Howick Santa Parade Howick Howick Santa Santa Parade Parade PR0414 Thousands turned out for the annual Howick Santa Parade on Sunday afternoon. The forecasted rain never appeared while the crowd soaked up the gorgeous sunshine. Temperatures reached 21 degrees Celcius although it seemed much warmer. For those without shelter, the breeze offered a little respite. The winner of the best float – studiously assessed by judges Reay Neben (Times Newspapers managing director) and Adele White (deputy chair, Howick Local Board) - was Botany Downs Primary School. Best religious float went to Our Lady Star of the Sea. Best on-foot went to Captain Musick Air Scouts - Kea Section. Best dance group was City of Sails Rock n Roll Revival Club. Best theme went to Macleans Primary School.
