AIFSC that is based at Paradice Ice Skating Botany has been instrumental in helping grow the sport of figure skating in the East/South Auckland area. Belonging to AIFSC (or any figure skating club in Auckland) is a natural progression from the Paradice Learn to Skate program. To help skaters progress, AIFSC hold skating tests, run development sessions and train synchronised ice skating teams, all in preparation for local, regional, national and International competitions. “Auckland Champs is important to all its competitors, be it those at entry level grades; those hoping for National qualifying scores or those elite skaters who need feedback from the judging panel before attending international competitions,” says Sam Snoad AIFC Synchro coordinator. “ This year we have plenty of new skaters, three synchronised teams, a young dance couple and a number of skaters in the highest grades. “Spectators are more than welcome to come and watch,” she says.
